Cooking Stories 2 ; Tepung Pelita

Hi assalamualaikum!

I made tepung pelita few days ago, and subhanallah it was super duper easy! I’m definitely repeating them.

Here they are! Are they nice enough to be sold? Hihi

Steps are as belows (not detailed) :

Pandan juice, pure from the pandan leaves, blended all with water, then sieved.
Then add with rice flour and sugar (I used erythitol instead), and cooked them.

First layer ready. Natural green color, not the same as the ones you bought at bazaar because they add green food coloring.

Then let’s cook the upper layer!


Once the upper layers are ready, just fill them up and voila! You’ve got your tepung pelita 😋

Here’s some tips based on my first experience.
1. Put enough sugar (or sugar substitutes)
2. Put a thinner upper layer than the lower layer. Because the upper layer is bland in taste, the sweetness is from the green layer. So you would want them to be eaten together for the sweetness to sips thru.
3. I think I didnt add enough salt as well. So, season them well 😅
4. Only close the lids once they are fully cooled to room temperature. If not, you’ll get wrinkled tepung pelita 😂 (not that it affect the taste though)

Garden Stories 5 ; Backyard Garden

Hi assalamualaikum!

I went to check on my backyard garden today. Alhamdulillah they seem to grow very well. 

Nona plant - budding, flowering and already having fruits! Hope the fruits survived till harvest.

You can see there’s 2 more flowers here, which I can say are ready to be new fruits. Yay!


Both banana trees are in their fruiting season as well. We already cut off the jantung so that the bananas can grow big and healthy alhamdulillah!

In the most left pot is kangkung, which is growing healthily. And next to it is thai basil. Also very big already since last I saw the plant.
The last plant on the right is a mulberry plant, but I’m not sure if it is surviving or not 😅 hopefully it doesn’t die.

Salads are growing old, but its okay, that is intended because I plan to make seeds out of it.
In front of it is the nona plant from earlier. Its big already hihi.

Fig tree has a lot of fruits, waiting to ripe. I haven’t been able to harvest ripe fig from this one. Hopefully I can get my first harvest this time.


Finally, ladyfingers! So pretty and healthy alhamdulillah!

I went a bit further from my backyard garden and saw these,


Mushrooms! So pretty! Not sure if it is poisonous or not. But I dare not touch it 😅

Garden Stories 4 ; The Plants Are Growing, but..

The plants are growing, but not according to their timelines 🫠

Hello assalamualaikum!

So yeah, these are the updates

Sawi kerinting, tapi masih kecil. I think they should be mid tall by now 🫠

Bayam mix, still this small although they are supposed to be ready for harvesting in a few days..

Green amaranth (bayam hijau) as well. But this one seems to be bigger in size than the others.

Alhamdulillah mint is growing nice and healthy.

Another pot of bayam mix, the same as previous ones.

These are new pak choy plants, hopefully they wont grow stunted as well 😅



3 pots of tomato cherry. Just repotted.

Well I think the reason for their stunted growths are:
- late repotting to a bigger pot

- too many plants in a pot (because it feel such a waste to throw so many little ones. But now I feel it is more of a waste if all the plants are stunted and eventually cannot be eaten 🫠)

- less fertilizers given (because of late repotting)

Oh well, lesson learnt. Let’s make sure that this doesnt happen in the future too 😊

Cooking Stories 1 ; Pizza

Hi assalamualaikum,

So today I bake pizza, based on Datin Jam’s tips;

Make dough in thermomix. I used Hawaiian pizza recipe from Cookidoo. Uli 2 minutes je. I prefer this dough coz it’s softer compared to the normal pizza dough recipe. Cuma dough dia lebih sticky ya. 


Double the recipe, divide into 4, proof it for  15 mins, flatten it and masuk air fryer for 5 mins at 180c. Take it out and letak pizza sauce, top with any toppings and cheese and air fry for another 4 mins at 200c. Ni boleh reduce or increase the time based on how u like your cheese to be cooked


If u dont air fry the dough dulu nanti dia macam soggy sikit

Since it’s Ramadhan, not so sure how it tastes like. But alhamdulillah Fayyadh ate 3 out of 6 slices 🥰 Patut lah ibu suka masak - so satisfying! Hihi

“Sedap ke Fayyadh?” “Sedappp!!”


Made 6 slices in total. The dough was fluffy and airy. Very soft. Definitely gonna repeat again.
I’m planning to make frozen ones, and would like to try out on gluten-free version.


Tips : 
Please flatten the dough thin. 
A bit thicker ones would make it even thicker after baking/air frying.

Garden Stories 3 ; Re-pot & Planting

Assalamualaikum.

So, plan hari ini untuk re-pot dengan semai pokok baru alhamdulillah went as planned.


Re-pot bayam hijau merah mix together.
Since sekarang agak nomad, so kita tanam dalam polybag besar saja. Easier.


Sawi kerinting. Hopefully menjadi. Sebab actually dah hampir nak mati dalam semaian peatmoss yang asal tu. Maybe terlebih air 😅


Semaian baru ✨
Dari kanan - pak choy (9 tapak), kailan (3 tapak), 
salad milan (3 tapak)
Rasanya betul kot tu. 
Sebab tadi lepas semai, terlupa nak terus tanda. 
Takpe lah, nanti kita tengok anak benih yg keluar 


Yang ni pulak baki dalam tapak semaian tak dapat nak re-pot sebab tanah habis 😅
Kena beli tanah baru pulak 😌
So insyaAllah Selasa 12/3/24 baru sambung re-pot yang ni.

Anak pokok kat bawah tu anak pokok yg terkorban dan dikorbankan sebab ada yang tak menjadi dan untuk penjarakan.


Anak pokok tomato cherry ni pun akan re-pot sekali Selasa nanti. 


Sekali dengan pudina ni pun sama.
Pudina ni semai dari keratan batang yang beli dekat pasaraya je.
Semai 4-5 batang jugak haritu, 
alhamdulillah satu ni menjadi.

Garden Stories 2 ; New Plan

So, continuing the last post where I finally realized my mistakes, I should proceed with these :

• to plant new plants; pak choy (4 slots), salad (2 slots)

• to prepare new pots for; mints (1 pot), tomato cherry (3 pot), all the bayams (8 pots), sawi kerinting (4 pots)

1-2 weeks after should be good for repotting - 6/3/2024 (should be), but its already 9/3/24 now and I still havent moved them to a more appropriate pot

Even their new pot isn’t ready 🫠

Now that I jot them down here, I see now what I should be doing. So, see now why I’m starting this blog again? 😂

New Beginnings.

Hello assalamualaikum.

So hey, it’s already 2024 now. I’m pickup up my writing habits back because I think this helps me to

organize my thoughts and plans,

a place for me to pin down random thoughts I have,

And well,

for me to rant or share on anything.


I used to rant on IG stories, until I recently I realized how toxic the social medias have become. So I think having a personal and private place here seems better.
